| | Oregon Trail -Adventures in History 4-6th |

| | In this class, we will be exploring the Oregon Trail and how it relates to Westward Expansion, the Gold Rush, and other events of the times. This will be a unit study style class. Through class discussion, reading and writing assignments, activities and videos, we will learn about the treacherous journey people of the time were willing to undertake and why they would choose to go. There will be a book assigned to be read over the semester, as well as writing and other homework activities to be completed outside of the classroom.

| | Valerie has been homeschooling since 2010. She graduated her son, Luke, in 2021 and she continues to homeschool her daughter, Kendall. She has a life-long passion for all things creative and educating others. She is always inspired to use an eclectic and unconventional approach whenever possible to reach those needing a different style of learning. She is a licensed cosmetologist, loves the outdoors, spending time with her family, and taking on way too many DIY home renovating projects than she has time for.
