| | We will learn how to draw and paint better in this class. We will practice the fundamental techniques that make a good artist, a great artist, by really looking at shapes, learning about shading and value, and coming up with interesting compositions. We will use pencil, charcoal, watercolor, and ink. We will draw from life and copy pictures. An all-around art course which should give students the tool kit they need to sharpen their skills, expand upon their creativity, and create some amazing work! |

| | Sophia Pomponio recently graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She majored in illustration, and she plans to pursue a career as freelance and children’s book illustrator. As a student, she attended Palaestra for many years and throughout her college career has taught classes there as well. She is very excited to continue to teach there and share her love of art with the students. |
